Indian-British flavors take center stage in Marvin Agustin’s new BGC resto

Celebrated restaurateur and adventurous foodie Marvin Agustin just opened his newest restaurant concept in Bonifacio Global City — an Indian restaurant with a modern British flair called Tango Tandoor.

The idea came from Marvin’s favorite Indian food spot in London. "I first visited in 2016 and I fell in love with it," Marvin said during the restaurant opening last Saturday.

Since then, Marvin has dreamt of bringing something similar to the Philippines. because he thought the Filipinos would love the fusion of flavors.

“Last May, I was in London again, and good thing there [was] a Filipino staff and she told me that I could get in touch with the chef,” he said.

“Next day, I went back to the restaurant, and it was like a proposal,” he said. “I asked Chef Kundan Singh Rawat if he would come to Manila and help me bring this delicious concept [to] the Philippines.”

In August, Marvin took Chef Kundan and Chef Kapil Devidas Jogdand to the country to help him conceptualize his newest restaurant.

“We came here creating this menu, training our team to give us here in BGC a very delicious Indian food, but at the same time, it doesn’t have to be expensive,” he said.

Located on 30th St. corner 11th Ave., Tango Tandoor features the star plates of the two award-winning celebrated chefs, including Tandoori dishes in seafood, meat, and vegetable varieties.

For those not yet familiar with Indian flavors, here are some dishes at Tango Tandoor that can and will serve as your gateway to Indian food heaven.
