This grasshopper delicacy is a hit in South Cotabato

Are you adventurous as a foodie? If you don't mind trying something sort of exotic, this grasshopper delicacy in South Cotabato might be for you!

According to Mark Salazar's report on "24 Oras," Monday, the "apan" is fried grasshopper that is crunchy in texture and spicy in flavor.

Originating from the municipality of Polomolok, the apan is measured using plastic cups. One serving costs P50, higher than its previous price of P40.

Experts said it's safe to eat grasshoppers, because it also eats clean food as a herbivore.

They advise to wash the insect properly and cook it thoroughly, but those with food allergies must be careful if they want to try it.
