While rainy weather has everybody craving something thick and hot to keep warm, it's also the kind of weather that slows everything down and for some, dampens their spirit.

So: dessert. It won't just boost your mood but the sugar in it could boost your energy and help you keep going.  If anything, cakes, cookies, and chocolates are perfect for yet another cup of coffee.

Below are five new offerings from local and international pastry shops that you might want to try.

Chef Ely Salar of Patisserie Le Choux-Colat recently innovated a praline collection containing 16 chocolate pieces encased in a spruce box that will tickle your sweet tooth.

The chocolate box consists of eight decadent flavors, including Honey Nougat Dark Chocolate, Cashew Praline, Coffee Ganache, Almond Dark Chocolate, Triple Chocolate Hazelnut Praline, Tablea Dark Chocolate, Sea Salt Caramel Ganache, and Milk Chocolate Rocher.
