At this San Juan resto, an afternoon of brick-oven pizzas comes with a spectacular drag show!

A brick-oven pizza and a drag show? Count us in!

Gianetto Pizzeria isn't your typical Italian restaurant. After launching its first-ever brick-and-mortar branch in the heart of San Juan City, this pandemic-born restaurant started offering afternoon drag shows.

The idea is to give a platform to Filipino drag queens where they can showcase their talent — during daytime.

According to Gianetto Pizzeria co-owner Lesley Ngo, she wanted patrons to enjoy good food while enjoying the drag shows they produce.

"We conceptualized drag, not just for the show but [for guests] to experience the food we specialize in," Lesley told GMA Integrated News.

Gianetto Pizzeria offers all sorts of Italian comfort food, including its bestsellers Ultimate Truffle Mushroom (P670), Eats Me Spinach (P639), and 3 Cheese & Herbs (P570), among others. It also takes pride in its Filipino-flavored pizzas like Lesley's Favorite (P570), made up of red sauce, mozzarella, longganisa, and kesong puti.

Gianetto aims to produce drag shows on a monthly basis, having successfully done so since November. It requires interested audiences to purchase a ticket, which comes with a meal, the show, and a meet and greet.

In January's edition of Drag & Dine, "Drag Den PH" queens Shewarma, O-A, and Aries Night performed their hearts out while guests enjoyed a slice of brick-oven pizza and a drink for P1,500 inclusive of a meet and greet with the queens.

"For March, we're celebrating International Women's Day, so [we plan to get transwomen drag queens] to amplify empowerment," Lesley concluded.
