Inasal na manok takes the 5th spot on TasteAtlas' 50 best chicken dishes in the world


Inasal na manok placed fifth in TasteAtlas' list of 50 best chicken dishes in the world.

The list is for the month of October and is based on TasteAtlas audience ratings. TasteAtlas is an online travel guide that gathers recipes, reviews, and articles on food in different countries.

 



Taking the number one spot is Peru’s pollo ala brasa, followed by India’s butter chicken and tikka. Iran’s jujeh kebab is in the fourth spot.

Originating in Bacolod, inasal is easily one of Filipinos’ most favorite ways to enjoy chicken.

The chicken is marinated in vinegar and spices like lemongrass, garlic, and ginger. Atsuete is also added, which apart from giving the chicken its appetizing golden color, provides a distinct peppery flavor.

The smoky grilled chicken is then commonly served with rice, chicken oil, and vinegar or soy sauce.
