Bibingka makes it to Taste Atlas top 20 best cakes in the world

The fluffy and savory goodness that is bibingka just made it to Taste Atlas’ best cakes in the world list!

In the July 2022 list released Wednesday, Taste Atlas ranked the Philippines’ bibingka 13th out of 50 other cakes found all over the globe.

Made with rice flour, eggs, coconut milk, butter, coconut, and some cheese, the bibingka’s home-y and comforting flavors earned a rating of 4.43 from Taste Atlas’ audience.

Meanwhile, conquering the list was Bulgaria’s Torta Garash, which is made of layers of dark chocolate sponges and made even more decadent with creamy ganache, walnuts, desiccated coconut, and almonds.

Following Torta Garash are Czech Republic’s Valassky frgal, Russia’s Smetannik, Poland’s Karpatka, and the Japanese Cheesecake.
