5 popular Korean street food and snacks you can buy in local K-marts
We can't travel to South Korea yet, but we can still enjoy the country's delicious food.
In an episode of "Good News," Love Añover did a mukbang, the worldwide trend in which people broadcast themselves eating piles of food.
The best part? You can easily find these snacks in Korean groceries such as Big G Family Mart.
1. Korean Cream Cheese Garlic Bread
This snack is both sweet and savory due to the cream cheese and garlic butter. The bun is big enough to be its own meal!
One serving costs P70.
2. Tteokbokki
A popular Korean street food, the Tteokbokki is made from cylinder-shaped rice cakes.
It's sweet, it's salty, and better yet, it's spicy!
Tteokbokki costs around P80.
3. Jajangmyeon
You might have seen this one in Korean dramas.
Jajangmyeon is a Korean-Chinese noodle dish that's made with chunjang sauce, or black bean paste. That's also what gives the dish its dark color.
4. Odeng
Odeng is a fish cake snack served in sticks. The name originates from the Japanese odeng, which is a hotposh dish.
It's also called eomuk, which translates to fish cake.
This snack costs P50.
5. Classic Korean Corn Dog
Who doesn't love a good corn dog? You can buy one of these for P50, or you can make it your own! Big G Family Mart co-owner Gina Guillermo shared the recipe for this yummy dish with "Good News."
To make the corn dog, mix a bowl of bread flour with glutinous rice flour.
Add in salt, eggs, and sugar, then follow it up with yeast then water. Use a mixer to get that stretchy consistency.
Then, slice your hotdogs and place them on a stick, along with a chunk of mozzarella cheese. Wrap them in the dough and let it rest for a few minutes.
Deep fry the corn dogs, then remove the excess oil by placing them on a strainer.
That done, you can now roll it on sugar and pour some mustard and ketchup as a finishing touch! —JCB, GMA News
