An old parking and dump space in Manila becomes a hidden garden with a coffee shop to boot, too
By JANNIELYN ANN BIGTAS, GMA News
The City of Manila on Sunday opened a new garden to the public.
An old parking and dump space for heavy vehicle equipment has become a hidden garden where locals can stroll and take a breather.
Fronting the Andres Bonifacio Shrine, the secret garden is dubbed "The Hidden Garden in Lawton" since it is adjacent to the Lacson underpass.
Tourists and guests coming from Intramuros can safely walk around the open garden space and should they need a place to rest, a coffee shop serving homegrown local coffee is located inside the garden.
On his Facebook page, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said the hidden garden is part of the plan to have more green spaces in the City of Manila. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
