Cooking for the fam? Here's an easy recipe for spare ribs with barbeque sauce

Why not start the year by cooking up something special for the entire family?

Chef Jose Sarasola just shared an easy recipe for spare ribs with barbeque sauce, perfect for beginner cooks who want to level up their kitchen skills this quarantine.

You just need to follow instructions carefully and prepare the following ingredients:

  • Pork spare ribs
  • Tomato sauce (250g)
  • Butter (100g)
  • Garlic (1 whole
  • Onion (1 medium)
  • Salt (2 tbsp)
  • Black pepper (1 tsp)
  • Bay leaves (2 pcs)
  • Calamansi (21 pcs)
  • White sugar (6 tbsp)
  • Worcestershire sauce (1 tsp)
  • Water(3 cups)

First, you'll need to melt some butter in a large pan, then cook your garlic and onions.

Add your ribs, then sear them for 15 minutes on each side until they turn brown.

Add some salt, pepper, and laurel leaves for a nice aroma, then cover your pan.

Once the pork is cooked, start the sauce by pouring in tomato sauce, followed by water, calamansi juice, and sugar.

Mix this well and let it boil for at least 25 minutes, then your spare ribs with barbecue sauce is ready to go. —Margaret Claire Layug/MGP, GMA News
