Have you ever tried ube keso buchi balls? Here's how to make them

It's 2021, but there's no need to leave the ube cheese trend behind, especially since the treats are delicious.

So here's another one for you: ube keso buchi balls, made popular by the Cavite-based shop Kusina ni Tiks.

On "Unang Hirit," owner Glenda Pasiliao showed viewers how to make the treat.

Here are the ingredients you'll need:

  • 500 grams of glutinous flour
  • 5 cups of hot water
  • 2 cups of red sugar
  • 200 grams of ube halaya
  • 200 grams of cheese
  • 5 mL of oil
  • 5 grams of ube food coloring

First, mix the glutinous flour, hot water, a dash of oil, and ube powder. Once the dough is ready, shape a bit of it into a circle and place ube halaya and cheese inside. Roll it into a ball, then dip it in water before rolling it in a bowl of sesame seeds.

Once you've made several balls, deep fry them in oil until they're golden brown.

This treat has the shelf life of seven days if placed in the freezer.

If you're not feeling up to making it yourself, you can contact Kusina ni Tiks on Facebook, or text them at 09266552899. —JCB, GMA News
