Ube buko pie, anyone? Here's how to make your own

We had our ube cheese pandesal phase, now how about some ube buko pie?

Analiza Daran de Guzman, the genius behind the delicacy, just started her own shop back in July and it took off.

She showed how she bakes the pies in Wednesday's "Unang Hirit" episode.

To make the crust, mix flour, sugar, salt, butter, ube flavor, and water. Rest the mix in the refrigerator in the refrigerator for an hour.

Using a rolling pin, flatten the mix and place it on the pan. Put ube halaya at the bottom, and then start creating the filling.

In low heat, simmer milk, cornstarch, buko, and ube halaya. Once done, you can now put it in the pan. Cover all of it with another layer of crust, then bake it for 20 to 25 minutes in 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

And while pies are normally best enjoyed when they're fresh from the oven, the ube buko pie is the opposite — it's best to let it cool overnight.

According to host Love Anover, the pie was smooth and creamy and undeniably yummy!
