In Batangas, a lomi house with outrageous takes on the noodle dish

Lomi is an easy, underrated dish that has all the necessary provisions for a good and complete meal: pieces of meat and vegetables on a bed of formidable noodles generously coated with savory sauce.

With the more popular bihon and canton and the special palabok and Malabon, lomi is a little too easy to overlook.

But a lomi house in Calaca Batangas sets to correct this mistake.

The Original Lomihan sa Madalunot has gone crazy with its imagination and is now offering lomi noodles topped with ulam not normally associated with the humble noodle dish.

We mean: topping the fat noodles with crispy liempo for instance, for the incredible Liempo Lomi? A serving is good for two and costs only P90.

There is also the Chicken Lomi which features chicken nuggets, cabbage, onion, and egg.

The Sisig Lomi meanwhile is a party dish unto itself: chicharron, kikiam, shing-aling, siomai, egg, onions, cabbage, and liver.

But perhaps the most outrageous of them all: Lomi-gyupsal. Taking inspiration from the popular Korean experience, the Original Lomihan sa Madalunot offers unli-lomi with guests choosing which toppings to put.

The innovative eatery has other inventive takes in their menu, including a bilao that's one-half spaghetti and one-half pancit canton.
