A dine-in and takeout food market is opening in BGC this week!

The food industry is badly hit by COVID-19, but an optimistic group of restaurants thought it's time to band together and redefine what it means to dine out.

With the City of  Taguig and the Restaurant Owners of the Philippines, Mercato Centrale gathered 17 restaurants and a slew of popular merchants at Mercato for High StrEat, a food market in Bonifacio High Street Ampitheater where you can enjoy delicious food dine-in or take out. Think: a picnic and the food court experience rolled into a safe, socially-distanced environment.

It's a good mix of restaurants too. Fine-dining greats like Gallery by Chef Chele and Wolfgang's Steakhouse will go side-by-side with casual Poblacion establishments El Chupacabra and A'Toda Madre.

Trendy La Picarra and FRNK Milk Bar will be there, as Brotzeit, Corner Tree Cafe. The Mango Tree Manila, The Alley by Vikings, and Our Kitchen Cafe by Chef Laudico, among others.

And then of course there are the Mercato favourites like Mamay's Ihaw, Nuon Vietnamese Deli, Chef Ian Sushi, Kuya Crepes, and a lot, lot more to complete the experience.

Apart from helping both the restaurants and small food vendors get their groove back, patronising High StrEat will allow you to do a good deed as Mercato will be donating a portion of its earnings to Save the Children Foundation.

High StrEat has secured the approval of the Task Force Safe City Taguig for the health and safety protocols that will be strictly implemented during the food market. — LA, GMA News

High StrEat will open on October 17 from 11am to 9pm daily.
