3 ways to have the magnificent Wolfgang's Steakhouse experience in your home

Though restaurant dine-in operations are allowed to operate at 50% capacity, the impressive Wolfgang's Steakhouse observed many of their clients preferred to stay home, calling the Steakhouse at any of its three locations in Metro Manila (Podium, Resorts World Manila, and BGC) to order take-out and delivery, as well as to make special requests, inadvertently giving Wolfgang's Steakhouse brilliant ideas on how to pivot and weather the pandemic.

Listening to their clients, Wolfgang's Steakhouse has begun offering three ways — on top of the usual take-out and delivery — that will let the you have that magnificent restaurant experience right in your home.

1. Treat yourself to a proper happy hour kit

By proper happy hour, we don't mean having ice-cold beer — or a glass of wine or even fixing yourself a cocktail —over a Zoom call with friends. We mean enjoying a cocktail you didn't fix yourself (hallelujah!) and delicious food to go with it.

Wolfgang's took into careful consideration these mundane but important little luxuries and came up with happy hour kits. There are two to choose from: The Burger (P998) and The Roast Beef Sandwich (P1,088). Both come crispy house-made chips, the famous Old Fashioned sauce, and a bottle of Wolfgang's famously potent cocktail (old fashioned, manhattan, or negroni, which is our personal recommendation). The burger comes with a modest side of vegetables, while the sandwich, the AU Jus from the Roast Beef.

Also included are some instructions on how to cook and and how to store, as well as a Spotify code, so you can recreate that Wolfgang Experience with awesome tunes in the background.

2. Cook steak for the whole family

Wolfgang Steakhouse's has put together a steak kit that's pretty impressive. It comes with house-made bread, 2 frozen pcs. of Wolfgang's Canadian Bacon, 700g USDA Prime dry-aged t-bone steak, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, the old fashioned sauce, as well as some salt, and a choice of their famously potent cocktail (negroni, manhattan, or old fashioned). There are instructions on how to cook and how to store, and another one specific to steak.

The steak kit (P5,200) comes in an impressive box, making it a pretty cool gift item — if you're trying to impressive anybody. But really, cook it for family and for a few hours, transport yourself and your family away from the strange year we're in.

3. Sign up for the restaurant's micro-catering

Especially for the upcoming holidays, where it's safe to assume many of us will go ahead with our family gatherings albeit, a more intimate version (Tita Baby and family, see you next year), we highly recommend Wolfgang Steakhouse's no-contact catering.

Wolfgang's will accommodate parties as small as two people but can cater groups of up to 10. It has a mobile kitchen, where all the cooking happens, and once ready, the crew can (1) hand over the food to a member of your household to serve, (2) leave the goodies on a table right outside your dining room, or if you sign up for a standard micro-catering (more on this below), have the restaurant's waitstaff serve the food for you. There are set menus you can choose from, but you can also order a la carte.

The micro-catering comes with a minimum spend of P30,000 — a bit steep we know so stay with us a bit for the fine print. There are three options: The No-Contact Catering at P488/head is inclusive of food, delivery, chef, and even tableware. The Standard at P688/head includes all those plus waitstaff. The premium at P988/head includes all that plus chairs and tables.

According to Wolfgang's Marketing Offering Paula Maravilla, the minimum spend only means the sum of food orders and the charge per head should amount to P30,000. Which means, if you're hosting a get-together of 8, that's being able to order the canadian bacon, the lobster mac & cheese, porterhouse good for 4, a ribeye steak, a seafood platter, and a couple of sides.

The minimum spend sounds steep for a regular Sunday dinner with the family, so perhaps, it's best to keep this mind as an option for the upcoming holidays or landmark occasions like a 20th anniversary, a 40th birthday, and so on. — LA, GMA News

Wolfgang's is also offering a Personal Chef service, if you prefer, which has a minimum spend of P12,000. Website.
