Dunkin’ clarifies: No plans to stop operations in the Philippines
Dunkin’ has clarified that it has no plans to stop operations in the Philippines.
The donut chain issued the clarification earlier this week following reports about the closure of hundreds of Dunkin’ outlets across the United States by the end of 2020.
According to Dunkin’, the confusion may have risen from local reposts of the story that used photos of a storefront in the Philippines.
In a post on their official Facebook page on July 10, Dunkin’ Philippines said that while it was true that 450 stores in the US would be closing this year, there were no plans to shut down local operations.
“Golden Donuts, Inc., the Philippine franchisee of the Dunkin’ Brands Inc. wishes to clarify and reassure its customers that there are currently no plans of permanently closing Dunkin’ operations in the Philippines,” the statement read.
