Here's an easy pinakbet recipe for all you rice-lovers out there

Does yummy pinakbet sound good for dinner?

You're in luck because Chef Jose Sarasola just shared an easy step-by-recipe for the delicious dish on "Unang Hirit."

First, you'll need the following ingredients:

  • Pork belly
  • Shrimp
  • Kalabasa
  • Talong
  • Bagoong
  • Stringbeans
  • Okra
  • Ampalaya
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Brown sugar
  • Patis
  • Salt

Sautee the onions and garlic in a large pan, followed by the tomatoes and ginger.

Then it's time to add your pork, followed by the shrimp. Make sure you keep your eyes on the pan because shrimp takes a really short time to cook.

Next, you add some bagoong and water, then let it all simmer before adding your veggies.

Chef Jose added the kalabasa first because it takes a lot of time to cook, followed by the stringbeans, ampalaya, okra and eggplant.

To make the pinakbet even more flavorful, Chef Jose added some salt, brown sugar and patis while the meat and veggies soaked everything in.

Finally, Chef Jose added a secret ingredient that would add a lot of crunch and flavor to the dish: Chicharon.

After some last-minute tasting, sprinkle some crushed chicharon on top, then your pinakbet is good to go!
