The Manila Hotel partially opens in time — and with a promo — for its 108th anniversary

The Grand Dame has partially opened on July 3, in time to celebrate its 108th anniversary on July 4.

The Manila Hotel is partially opened beginning today, July 3 — in time for its 108th founding anniversary tomorrow, July 4.

Hotel operations won't resume until August, but Grand Dame's ready to accept room reservations as well as dine-in guests for the Lobby Lounge and Cafe Ilang Ilang, with the latter offering a promo to boot, too. The delicatessen is now also open.

The lovely Cafe Ilang Ilang will give the first 108 customers of the first 108 days of reopening a special dining rate of P1250 for lunch and P1550 for dinner.

The order-and-eat-all-you-can system allows guests to choose dishes from the menu and order single portions as many times as you want at a fixed price.

Both the Lobby Lounge and Cafe Ilang Ilang is open at 30% capacity, and with strict safety protocols. There is the disposable menu, cutlery in sealed containers, as well as acrylic dividers in place.

Like most restaurants in the new normal, guests at The Manila Hotel are required to undergo mandatory temperature checks as well as health declaration procedures.

In turn, the historic hotel will implement frequent sanitation of high-touch points like door handles, elevator buttons, and public area furniture by use of UV technology. It will keep other facilities like the swimming pool and gym, closed for now.

What can hotel guests expect in August, should plans of reopening push through? Medical-grade sterilizing, personal wellness kits, and UV-sanitized keycards.

But that's getting ahead of the story. Let's keep our focus on its restaurants, shall we? — LA, GMA News
