Craving fresh strawberries from Benguet? Here’s where folks in Metro Manila can get them

Folks in Metro Manila can have gigantic Benguet strawberries — and fresh lemons, too — delivered right to their doorsteps.

A group called Sadiwa is currently taking orders to help Cordillera farmers bounce back from their losses due to the lockdown restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ordering process is also quite simple:

1.) Buyers in Metro Manila can avail of king strawberries, lemons and fresh strawberry jam by filling out this form.

2.) The products will then be delivered to Metro Manila where the buyer can pick them up or have them delivered via any online courier service.

Sadiwa aims to make it easier for affected farmers to sell their products to consumers amid the pandemic. It is currently being run by a team of women Gian Cala, Maxine Carasig, Nikeia Salazar, Myrel Villa, and Dell Young.

“Both farmers and consumers will benefit when more orders are placed,” Carasig told GMA News Online.

“On farmers’ end, all their produce will be turned into cash, like how it’s supposed to be, and will then help in their everyday needs. For the consumers, not only do they get fresh produce but they also acquire it for an affordable price. Tendency is they share it with their friends, hence more and more people get to enjoy the farmers’ goods without compromising their budget,” she added.
