Starbucks suspends operations, shortly after it reopened drive-through
Starbucks on Thursday afternoon announced it was going to suspend its drive-through operations shortly after it reopened.
In a note posted on social media, the famous coffee shop said it has "decided to once again pause our operations for our currently opened drive-through stores to support the government's enhanced community quarantine protocols."
"We will always put the health and safety of our partners (employees) and customers as our top priority," it added.
On Wednesday, Starbucks announced it was going to reopen 15 of its outlets across the Philippines for drive-through operations starting Thursday.
Lo and behold, Thursday morning saw kilometric lines of cars outside Starbucks outlets, all eager for their coffee fix.
Luzon has been on enhanced community quarantine since March 17 to curb the spread of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered its extension to April 30.
