Martha Stewart tries the Filipino-style adobo: 'It takes on a sweet and sour flavor that is delightful'
Did Martha Stewart just eat adobo for breakfast?
The lifestyle icon on Instagram Monday morning shared a photo of a delicious-looking chicken adobo atop white rice and some baby bok choy.
"This Filipino-style adobo includes a full cup and a half of the mellower rice-wine variety. Swirled in a marinade of soy sauce, sugar, and garlic, it tenderizes the chicken, then it cooks with the meat to build flavor," she wrote.
"Once the chicken is tender and the sauce reduces to a glossy consistency, it takes on a sweet and sour flavor that is delightful drizzled over a bowl of coconut rice and steamed baby bok choy."
Ever so gracious, Martha shared the full recipe on the "link on my bio" and credited her food editor Shira Bocar for it and how the adobo looked on that photograph.
Martha is a recent Manila visitor, sitting down for lunch with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Department of Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat and then later on, going to Pampanga to plant rice and be one with the farmers. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
