TO LESSEN PLASTIC WASTE
Canteens at a Lucena high school use banana leaves and paper as lunch packaging
To lessen plastic waste, eateries in the Quezon National High School in Lucena City have forgone styrofoam and plastic packaging to serve lunch.
Instead, they are serving hot meals in banana leaves supported by Manila paper.
With roughly around 50 stalls and eateries in the canteen, it's safe to say this is a huge help to the environment.
The canteens use reusable metal utensils, too, which they scrub, wash, and clean so they may be reused again.
