Here’s how much milk tea you can have in a week, according to a nutritionist
Milk tea is all the rage these days, what with beloved foreign brands finally opening shop in Manila and the weather: Summer really is the season for a refreshing drink like milk tea.
But speaking to Mariz Umali on “24 Oras,” dietician and nutritionist Charmaine Manango said milk tea is “an empty caloric drink.”
"Sobrang taas sa caloric content and sobrang tamis niya and a diet high in sugar can lead to type 2 diabetes and heart problems," Manango said.
Manango says drinking two cups of milk tea a day or even having a daily milk tea habit can be considered excessive.
But if such is your craving, Manango recommends enjoying a large serving of milk tea once a week.
