You can now give edible cabbage roses to your loved one on Valentine's Day
Tired of the old set of bouquet of flowers? Step up your game this Valentine's Day and give edible cabbage roses for a change.
In an episode on Unang Hirit on Monday, host Love Añover-Lianko visited a farm in Atok, Benguet where they grow hectares of cabbage roses.
According to the flower farm owner Lany Ganayan, cabbage roses are edible.
"We can eat it, kung sa amin kasi nga bulaklak [sila]. They are used for flower arrangements but they are [also] very edible," she said.
Lany said cabbage roses cost P100 each and last up to five days.
The flower farm in Benguet also offers other types of flowers, as they sow seeds from Japan and deliver their flowers to the famous flower market Dangwa.
For visitors who want to go on a tour and take Instagram-worthy shots at the flower farm, there is an entrance fee of P250. The owner said the fee will increase to P300 effective on March 15.
The farm is open from 6am to 5pm. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
