Red Lobster, America’s #1 seafood restaurant, is now open in Pasay
After celebrating its 50th anniversary earlier this year, and having 745 restaurants in 11 countries, Red Lobster — in partnership with restaurant group The Bistro Group — is opening its first branch in the Philippines on Friday, November 16 at S Maison in Pasay City.
Famous for mouthwatering seafood and trademark Cheddar Bay Biscuits, the number one seafood restaurant in the United States is bringing their signature staples as well as new culinary creations to its Manila branch.
The 115-seater restaurant has a laid-back yet modern vibe with lots of light coming from the bayside.
Speaking to GMA News Online, Director of Asia Operations Catherine Souders says they’re really excited to bring the Red Lobster dining experience to another seafood loving country like the Philippines.
“Red Lobster’s growing pretty dramatically within Southeast Asia, and we’ve been wanting to enter the Philippines for many years now. And now the time was right for us with our fantastic partners, The Bistro Group… We [Red Lobster] know seafood and they [The Bistro Group] know the Philippines… so it’s like a great marriage.”
Souders says Red Lobster prides itself in its own brand of service that they carry to every branch they open.
“We really focus on providing the same dining experience — the ultimate seafood dining experience — in all our restaurants. Whether you’re in Dubai or Tokyo, you should have the same experience as they do here in Manila. What we really focus on is providing attentive, proactive service that makes the customers feel valued and appreciated,” she said.
She adds, “The smile from the server that greets your table, the passion that the team members have and that our chefs have in delivering the food, that’s the same. The brand has very strong core values and we have a very identified and clear set of guiding principles and mission that every team member is really passionate about delivering.”
According to Souders, the Red Lobster team worked closely with the chefs of The Bistro Group to come up with ”localized” versions of Red Lobster classics as well as original dishes using the best of Philippine ingredients, including local produce and of course seafood.
“We did localize some flavors to fit the Filipino palate and we also localized some ingredients to reflect the best that the Philippines has to offer,” Souders explained, pointing out the country’s local supply of fresh seafood like Barramundi.
Souders also pointed out that they offer only sustainable, traceable, and responsibly sourced local seafood at Red Lobster in Manila. Check out the must-orders below:
