PHL's Toyo Eatery named 'One to Watch' by Asia's 50 Best Restaurants

A prestigious London-based awards body has tabbed Toyo Eatery, a local restaurant that serves Filipino food, as "The One to Watch."

The restaurant, turning two this year and headed by Chef Jordy Navarra, was honored by the same body listing Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.

While not part of the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants' list, The One to Watch award is given to what the organizers and judges believe is the region's rising star.

The recognition is a win for local cuisine, for it is the first time that the body awarded a Filipino chef for serving Filipino food. —Jessica Bartolome/JST, GMA News
