French fries...with chocolate sauce? Only at McDonald’s in Japan
McDonald’s Japan goes sweet and salty as they roll out their latest invention, the McChoco Potato. It's exactly what it sounds like: potatoes (as fries) drizzled with chocolate with cacao flavor and white milk chocolate.

On their company Twitter account, social media users wondered if the McChoco Potato is a joke. They responded by saying that the account is as real as the fries about to be served in the land of rising sun.
CNN Money reports that the company has been hit with "fewer visitors and weaker sales" in Japan and the rest of Asia. The menu item, promoted as a snack and dessert, hopes to entice customers back to their stores.
Aside from McChoco Potato, McDonald's Japan is also offering the Avocado Bacon Lettuce Burger.
McDonald's Japan previously offered black burgers, the Ebi Burger (shrimp burger), Shaka Shaka Potaotes (fries topped with cheese sauce or bacon), green tea-flavored milkshakes, the Tamago Double Mac (a hamburger with poached eggs, three beef patties and bacon), and Ume Nuggets (Chicken McNuggets with plum sauce as dip). — Aya Tantiangco/BM, GMA News
