For competitive eaters, eating a 1-kilo burger is a piece of cake
You probably don't need an hour to eat a quarter-pounder. Competitive eater Brendon didn't need an hour either—to finish off the equivalent of eight quarter-pounders in one sitting.
According to a report by Cesar Apolinario on "News To Go" Tuesday, Brendon took on a restaurant's challenge to eat an enormous burger, 12 inches in diameter, with the patty weighing one whole kilo, in one hour or less. After the cook slathered mayo and other condiments on the bun, layered vegetables under and over the patty and topped the burger with six onion rings, Brendon got down to business and cleaned his plate before the hour was up.
Another competitive eater, Justin Cardano, took Goto Monster's "Man Vs. Food 45-Minute Challenge," which dared him to eat a giant bowlful of lugaw—enough for eight people—with all the fixings. He didn't quite make it, but with the increasing number of food challenges cropping up in eateries everywhere, he'll have more opportunities to show off his prowess.
Be warned, however, that too much eating can be bad for you, even if you are a competitive eater.
"If you continue to do that, baka masira yung tinatawag na 'satiety control' ng brain," said Jovita Raval, Chief Information Officer of the National Nutrition Council. "Eventually, pag nagiging habit siya, hindi na alam ng katawan mo na busog ka na pala." — BM, GMA News
