Foodies, this could be the ultimate sandwich to die for—an 18-inch-tall concoction with 26 fillings, each starting with a letter of the English alphabet.

Meat, err, meet the Alphabet Sandwich—a brainchild of food blogger Nick Chipman of Dude Foods, who admitted the treat was "way taller" than he expected.

Chipman admitted he had problems not just in choosing the ingredients, but also in making sure the tall sandwich does not topple over.

"(D)o you realize how difficult it is to find a food that starts with the letter X? To solve that issue I eventually settled on xylocarp, which is defined as 'a hard, woody fruit that grows on trees,' or in other words, a coconut," Chipman said in a blog post.

He added the sandwich "ended up being WAY taller that I expected and almost toppled over at numerous points along the way."

Chipman also said he had to make tough choices—like using French fries or fish sticks for F.

Eventually, the sandwich was completed, and the final product's fillings included:
  • Avocado
  • Bacon
  • Cheese
  • Doritos
  • Egg
  • Fish sticks
  • Garlic bread
  • Ham
  • Italian sausage patty
  • Jalapeño peppers
  • Krispy Kreme doughnut
  • Lettuce
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Noodles
  • Onion rings
  • Pepperoni
  • Queso blanco dip
  • Ramen noodles
  • Spinach
  • Turkey burger
  • Usingers bratwurst
  • Veal Parmesan
  • Waffle
  • Xylocarp (coconut)
  • Yams
  • Zucchini
Eating the sandwich

A report on Mashable said that while Chipman ate his concoction, he had to dismantle it first.

"The idea behind it was awesome, but it wasn't too functional as an actual sandwich just because it was probably about a foot-and-a-half tall," he said.

He also said he found the doughnut and the veal parmesan "surprisingly good together." — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
