Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo issue advice to couples facing marital problems

Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo are no strangers to marital problems, like any other married couple. 

At the media conference of “Everything About My Wife” on Thursday, the Kapuso couple gave some advice to married couples experiencing problems in their relationship. 

For Jennylyn, communication is key. 

“Kung may mga needs kayo, kung may mga concerns kayo, kailangan niyo talagang upuan nang kayong dalawa lang. Walang ibang involved. Yung talagang maayos niyo yung dalawa lang na nakakapag-usap kayo ng matino at hindi magsisigawan,” the actress said. 

Aside from communication, having time with each other is also important as it ignites the “spark” in a relationship.

Meanwhile, Dennis advises couples to not give up on each other despite the fights and challenges.

“Importante w'ag mong susukuan yung ka-partner mo, lalo na kung mag-asawa na kayo at kung mahal niyo yung isa't isa,” he said

According to Dennis, fights and misunderstandings are natural in a relationship. “Pero kung talagang nagkasundo kayo na gusto niyo magsama habang buhay, kailangan panindigan niyo at huwag niyo susubukan yung isa't isa,” Dennis said.

“Everything About My Wife” follows the story of Imogen (Jennylyn) and Dom (Dennis) who faced a challenging point in their marriage when Miguel (Sam Milby) gets in the way of the couple and puts Imogen's loyalty to the test.

It is directed by Real Florido and produced by GMA Pictures, CreaZion Studios, and Glimmer Studio. Its cast also includes Carmi Martin, Alex Agustin, Joyce Glorioso, Polo Laurel, and Nova Villa, with the special participation of Ruby Ruiz, Donna Cariaga, Isay Alvarez, Romnick Sarmenta, and Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes.

"Everything About My Wife" will open in cinemas on February 26.
