Iya Villania opens up about fear of delivery and 'not making it back home'

Iya Villania has given birth to her fifth baby, but prior to delivery, she couldn't help but fear the uncertain.

On Instagram, the Kapuso host opened up about her fear of childbirth and whether she would make it back home to her family.

In her post, she shared a photo of her hugging her kids, Alana and Astro, before she gave birth to Anya.

"I remember savoring this moment with fear in my heart not knowing how delivery might unfold. I'm not a negative person but I couldn't help but fear the possibility of not making it back home to these guys or of any other possible misfortune," she said.

"If you only knew how much I fear delivery. If you know of all the possibilities during delivery then you too would understand."

She then pointed out her mom, Elena, whose blurry figure in the photo can be seen watching Iya and her kids on the couch.

"Then there’s the lady in the back, my mum, who I know has fears of her own about the delivery."

To be on the other side of things now, post-delivery, has definitely brought lift to Iya.

"Seeing and holding Anya and knowing we’ll be reunited with her very excited siblings soon brings me so much relief and gratitude," she said.

"God truly has been so gracious and faithful and I can only hope that I live a life that will honor Him. Will never take any of this for granted coz I see His grace in each of these tiny faces."

In the comments section, friends and loved ones of Iya expressed their excitement and sent their congratulations, including Anne Curtis, GMA Integrated News broadcast journalist Mariz Umali, musician Hannah Romawac, and many more.

"Congratulations lovey!" the "It's Showtime" host told Iya. "This made me teary eyed."

Mariz also said, "Congratulations [Iya Villania] and [Drew Arellano] u are truly an inspiration."

"I’m so happy and proud of you! You did amazing! I had faith that God was gonna cover you with his protection. I’m so excited to meet the little one and to finally celebrate with cake. Also, can’t wait to hear the detailed kwento of the birth. All 6mins of it," commented Hannah.

Iya gave birth to her baby No. 5, Anya Love, on February 11 at exactly 10:52 a.m.

Iya and Drew announced they were again expecting last September. In an "Updated with Nelson Canlas" episode posted last October 29, Iya shared that the pregnancy was not planned.

The couple got married in 2014. Together, they have five children: Primo, Leon, Alana, Astro, and Anya.
