Antonio Vinzon makes dad Roi proud with performance in 'Mga Batang Riles'

Antonio Vinzon is making his father, the veteran actor star Roi Vinzon, very proud with his performance in "Mga Batang Riles!"

According to Nelson Canlas's report in "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, the teen star is happy that his dad was impressed with his portrayal of Dagul in the GMA Prime series.

"Nakikita, napapansin 'yung acting niya 'di ba? Sabi ko, 'OK ah! First time!' Bihira 'yung ganon, first time," Roi said.

"Mas kinabahan po ako. Sabi ni Papa dapat stay grounded ka daw po dapat sa mga tao ngayon," Antonio said about his dad's reaction to the positive feedback he has been getting from viewers.

Antonio, who is celebrating his 17th birthday soon, said his wish is for his dad to visit the set of "Mga Batang Riles" and share a scene with him.

"Ang wish ko nga po, maka-fight si Papa eh," he said. 

"Mga Batang Riles" follows the townspeople of Sitio Liwanag, who will do what it takes to keep their homes and fight for their rights against a realty company's bid to take their land to create a modern complex.

Aside from Antonio, it also stars Miguel Tanfelix, Kokoy De Santos, Bruce Roeland, Raheel Bhyria, Diana Zubiri, Desiree Del Valle, Jay Manalo, and Ronnie Ricketts, among others.

"Mga Batang Riles" airs on GMA Prime at 8: 50 p.m.
