Jan Marini, Gerard Pizarras recall their reel-to-real love story
Jan Marini and Gerard Pizarras guested on Mikee Quintos' show, "Lutong Bahay," where they recalled their sweet reel-to-real love story.
On Thursday's episode, shared to Mikee and Chef Ylyt that they met in 1997 and started out as a love team.
"I didn't like him at first. I started liking him when I saw 'yung socks na suot niya sa taping kasi meron talaga akong thing for printed socks," said Jan.
Per Gerard, that was the time she began to be more open to conversing with him, adding that he found her intimidating because he was starstruck by her.
He also recalled one scene where he had to give her an envelope through a gate's grills and his hand brushed hers.
"Nagka-dampian 'yung kamay namin, merong electricity. Parang gusto ko ulit 'yung eksena na 'yun, iba 'yung naramdaman ko," he said.
Gerard and Jan will be working together again onscreen as they are set to star in the upcoming "Lolong" Season 2, which will premiere on GMA Prime on January 20.
"Ang ganda ng role na binigay niyo. Thirty years namin sa industry, another role na mag-asawa kami," the actor said.
The couple will also celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary this 2025.
In the episode, they shared that a key to having a healthy relationship is to let the other person grow.
"Pag sinabi mong healthy, you let the other person also grow hindi lang papasayahin mo siya. 'Yung nagbabago siya and you're embracing 'yung pagbabago niya, hindi 'yung , 'Ah nagbago na siya.' Most of the time, hindi lahat perfection 'yun," said Gerard.
Jan, for her part, shared it's deciding daily and moment by moment to love each other and stay in their marriage.
"Kasi with the conscious decision na I will stay no matter what, I will choose to love maski pipiliin kong mahalin si Gerard every day. Kahit na binwisit niya 'ko or ano, hindi talaga mag-w-work kung emotion 'yung iiral eh kasi andaling mag-surrender. In our case 'yun talaga 'yung naging formula," she said.
Catch "Lutong Bahay" on weekdays at 5:45 p.m. on GTV.
