Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged, US media confirms
Zendaya and Tom Holland are officially engaged, US media outlets report.
A family source confirmed the engagement to People Magazine.
Another source told People that Tom had wanted to propose to Zendaya “for a while.”
“Everyone close to them knew an engagement was happening," the source was quoted as saying, and that Tom shared the news with friends around the New Year. "He's always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special."
However, the couple will not rush a wedding. "They will just enjoy things for now," the source said. "They are both busy with work projects."
TMZ meanwhile said that Tom didn't "make a huge show of the engagement," and that the proposal was "very romantic and intimate." According to their sources, Tom popped the question between Christmas and New Year's Day in one of Zendaya's family homes in the US.
This confirmation comes after Zendaya was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger at the Golden Globe Awards, which led to online speculations.
At the awards, a Los Angeles Times reporter asked about her ring. In response, Zendaya just "smiled coyly and shrugged her shoulders mysteriously."
Tom and Zendaya first sparked dating rumors after starring as Peter Parker and Michelle in Marvel's 2017 blockbuster, "Spider-Man: Homecoming."
In July 2021, the two were spotted kissing in the car.
Since then, the couple has been expressing their love for each other on Instagram.
The most notable moment was when Tom called Zendaya "my MJ" on her birthday in 2021, and in return, Zendaya called him "my Spider-Man." —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
