Heart Evangelista recalls almost giving up on marriage with Chiz Escudero
Heart Evangelista and Senator Chiz Escudero have also gone through a rough patch in their marriage like many other couples.
During the latest episode of "Heart World," Heart and Chiz looked back on the ups and downs of their relationship.
"We just loved each other but we were so different in terms of our love language, with everything," Heart said.
"'Yung language of love niya, I understood was service. So he was taking care of not just me, but everybody. Ako kasi, ang language of love ko ay is touch and words of affirmation. Very tough love siya sa akin," she said.
But after some time, Heart said she felt lonely and restless and decided that she had enough, so she packed her bags and left.
"Parang hindi siya maaruga in that sense. So, napuno yata ako kasi for me talaga, talagang, ano na talaga, final, final destination na ito. Ako, for me. I really packed my bag. I really left. So, it was a very tough time," she said.
"I always believed, you know, that people should really fight for one another, but I don't know what got into me. Parang a dark shadow was casted upon me and I really I lost my way. I was driven by anger. I was rebellious."
According to Heart, it was the first time that she got upset over something she believed in when it comes to marriage as things "can turn differently" in reality.
She also addressed the split rumors circulating during the 2022 GMA Gala that she attended with Chiz, saying, "Totoo 'yun, hindi na kami nag-uusap noon."
"He was trying, in fact, at the time, he even brought me flowers, ganyan, pero hindi ko siya kinakausap," she said. "At that time. I wouldn't really care. Iba ako nun talaga. No one can break my decision. I was out."
During their almost one year on-and-off relationship, Heart said she didn't think of coming back to Chiz.
"That's why I took out my last name on my Instagram. That was really hard for me," Heart added.
She also shared how her relationship with Chiz's kids Chesi and Kino got affected.
"Actually, na-touch ako kay Kino, specifically. Kasi noong mga times na 'yun, hindi ako nagpapakita sa kanila. Kasi parang nag-galit din ako sa kanila. Even if they had nothing to do with it. I was really in a bad place. I think I was angry at everyone," she shared, adding that Kino had talked to her.
Recalling her heart to heart talk with Kino, the Sparkle actress had realized many things.
"I was very torn na parang... Mahal niya rin pala ako. Kasi for the longest time, I reached a point na feeling ko, parang hindi nila ako gusto dito sa bahay. Parang hindi nila akong mahal. Or something like that. Parang, I wasn't. I don't know what happened and how it got to that point na pakiramdam ko I wasn't appreciated in the home," she said.
After reflecting on their relationship, Heart said she wore her wedding ring again, went home to Chiz, and reconciled with him.
In 2022, Heart and Chiz became subjects of split rumors after the actress admitted that she was going through "a lot of personal stuff."
The couple ended the rumors after posting pictures of their New Year's celebration together.
In a May 2023 episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Heart revealed that she learned a lot from that rough patch in her marriage.
"Heart World" aired its debut episode on October 26. It airs on GMA Network on Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. after "Magpakailanman."
