Chito Miranda breaks silence after wife Neri's arrest
Chito Miranda has broken his silence after the reported arrest of his wife, Neri Naig.
The OPM icon took to Instagram to defend his wife, who is facing charges of syndicated estafa and violations of securities regulation code.
Chito said Neri was only an endorser and her face was used to get investors. He also said she faced similar cases before and they were dismissed.
"Bigla na lang siyang inaresto for the same case kahit hindi pa siya binigyan ng notice na may bagong criminal complaint pala laban sa kanya, and 'di niya na-defend 'yung sarili niya," he said.
"Wala siyang na-receive na letter from the prosecutor, walang subpoena, walang kahit anong notice," he added.
According to Chito, his wife never took any money or tried to cheat anyone.
"Praying na ma-sort out na ang lahat ng ito...kawawa naman 'yung asawa ko," he said.
"Sobrang bait po ni Neri...as in sobra. Eto 'yung babaeng kinulong ninyo without bail, habang nakalaya pa 'yung mga tunay na may kasalanan."
The Southern Police District said Neri was served the warrant of arrest on November 23, but did not identify her fully in their statement.
