Heart Evangelista looks back on renewal of vows with Chiz Escudero in 'Heart World'

Heart Evangelista can't help but feel sentimental as she remembered her renewal of vows with husband Chiz Escudero in Balesin Island back in February.

During the latest episode of "Heart World," the Global Fashion Icon opened up on the time Chiz proposed to her for the second time around.

According to the Sparkle star, she immediately said that she didn't want to plan a wedding just yet as she was going through a tough time.

"Noong time na 'yon noong nag-usap kami, ang dami ko pang uncertainties and ang gulo-gulo pa ng utak ko noon. For me I wanted to feel love, not just know it, not just see it on paper," Heart said.

"It was like a year, a good year, then I started to 'OK. I'm ready.' It took like a good year to plan it out, but it really truly mattered to me around nine months ago. It took three months, two months to say 'OK, let's get married,'" she added.

The couple renewed their vows in Balesin Island on February 15, a day after Valentine's Day and Heart's birthday. It is the same place where they tied the knot in 2015.

"The main motivation for getting married again was noong una kaming kinasal, I thought I knew what love was, but then hindi pa pala," Heart said.

In her personal wedding vow, Heart said that getting married the second time around still seems like her first time tying the knot.

She also called Chiz as one of the "greatest archangels" of her life with a "one true unique power" that is unconditional love.

"That love healed a lot of people around you and it has healed me," Heart said. "How my life would have been if you weren't around? You are not just a husband, but you are the greatest angel there is."

The wedding ceremony was attended by their close friends and family.

Heart's mom Cecilia Ongpauco walked her down the aisle.

Although her dad Rey did not make it to the wedding because he was in the United States for medical treatment, he made sure to send his best wishes for his daughter on her special day.

"Maraming maraming salamat sa 'yo at congratulations nga pala sa pangalawang wedding n'yo. Maging magsama kayo habang buhay," Rey said in a video message.

During their wedding, Heart wore an ethereal custom Ellie Saab piece, while the Senate President looked every inch dapper in an all-white suit and pants set.

"Heart World" airs on GMA Network on Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. after "Magpakailanman."
