Sherilyn Reyes-Tan recalls love story with husband Chris
In Mikee Quintos' show, "Lutong Bahay," Sherilyn Reyes-Tan shared how her sweet love story with her husband, Chris, began.
Mikee and Kuya Dudut visited Sherilyn and her son Lorenz for the show's latest episode, where they cooked salpicao and chopsuey.
While cooking, Mikee asked Sherilyn how her love story with Chris started.
According to the Sparkle star, she and Chris have common friends, so she did not have any misgivings about him.
"Text-text ganiyan hanggang sa ini-invite niya 'ko makipagkita sa kaniya. After four months, December 2001, meron kaming tinatawag na parang commitment ceremony," she shared.
"Nagpakasal kami na parang kami lang and 'yung nagkasala lang, pumirma din kami pero hindi finile," she added.
She and Chris eventually had a civil wedding in 2003 and then a church wedding in 2012.
The actress added that her husband proposed to her again in October.
"Sabi niya, 'Gusto ko lang na as early as now, malaman mo na after all these years, after 25 years, after lahat ng pinagdaanan natin na hirap at saya I still want to marry you again.' Parang hindi nagbabgo 'yung desisyon niya na ako 'yung pinakasalan niya at gusto niya pa rin ako pakasalan," she said.
On Instagram, Sherylin shared a video of Chris' proposal to her last month. It involved their kids Lorenz, Ryle, and Anya singing their theme song, Kenny Rogers' "Through the Years."
In the heartwarming video, Chris expressed to Sherylin that he wanted to marry her again the "right" way.
"I wanted you to know that I want to marry you again, na sana tama naman. I mean, tama sitwasyon lahat kasi before, sinabi ko naman sa 'yo nung start, I think you're one person that deserves everything," he said.
"So, if you would have me, wala akong ring just like the first time, to follow na lang 'yung ring kasi marami pa tayong kailangan tapusin, but will you marry me again for the fourth time?"
