AiAi delas Alas, Gerald Sibayan tried conceiving a child via IVF
AiAi delas Alas said that she and her ex-husband Gerald Sibayan tried to conceive a child via in vitro fertilization (IVF).
On Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the Comedy Queen confirmed their separation and tearfully opened up on their IVF journey.
“I really tried my best kasi mayroon kaming in vitro. Kahit mahina ‘yung mga eggs ko, tinatry ko mag-IVF,” she shared, adding that they had three embryos, but lost two of them.
“Mayroon pa kaming isang embryo eh. Sabi ko sa kanya, kapag nagkapera kami, isu-surprise ko sana siya na ilalagay ko ‘yung baby para magkaroon kami ng baby. Siguro ‘yun 'yung nagtrigger sa kaniya na ayaw niya ng surprise na bibigyan ko siya ng baby,” AiAi continued.
According to AiAi, Gerald told her he was “hurt” when they lost their two embryos.
“Sabi ko sa kaniya may isa pa tayo, si Gold. Anak mo rin ‘yon. I-try natin. Parang ayaw niya,” she said.
AiAi said one of Gerald's reasons for their separation was his desire to have children. The actress, who is already 60 years old, could no longer naturally conceive a baby.
In the same interview, AiAi shut down rumors that she will request the revocation of Gerald's green card in the United States.
AiAi, who is a green card holder and permanent US resident, petitioned for Gerald following their marriage in 2017.
AiAi and Gerald renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas in 2022. The couple celebrated their 10th year together in April.
