Max Collins, Pancho Magno say they make sure son Skye feels loved 'kahit hiwalay kami'

Although they are not together anymore, Max Collins and Pancho Magno aim to make their son Skye Anakin feel loved and whole.

The ex couple opened up on their co-parenting setup in Smart Parenting’s November issue. They are the magazine’s first cover stars who practice co-parenting.

The interview revealed that although the couple is in talks to file for divorce, they have not taken any active steps yet as they are focused on co-parenting their son.

“We’re grateful for the kind words people have shared about how we handled our separation, and we’re happy we’ve remained friends. Co-parenting has worked well for us because we operate as a team, always prioritizing what’s best for Skye,” Max told Smart Parenting.

Max ad Pancho said that since they both come from broken families, they are trying to change how these work.

“We try to make Skye feel he’s loved, like he’s not lacking. Buo pa rin siya kahit hiwalay kami,” Max said.

Pancho added, “We always try our best to make him feel loved and supported. We also make sure to include each other in our prayers at night.”

Max shared that when one of them is busy, the other parent would take over. They also update each other daily about Skye and compromise on their schedules especially for holidays.

For special occasions, they celebrate as a family. Max said they also avoid discussing personal matters, and all conversations revolve around Skye.

“I think the hardest questions to answer so far are during vacations he would ask 'Where’s Mommy?' or 'Where’s Daddy?,' but our usual answer is that the other parent is busy working," Pancho said. "We try to answer his questions in an honest and loving way, and that’s how we will continue to answer even when the questions become more difficult.”

They added that since they separated when Skye was still an infant, he has no recollection of them being a couple.

“He knows that when he’s with Daddy, he stays at 'Daddy’s house' and when he’s with Mommy, he stays at 'Mommy’s house', but we make him understand that both Mommy and Daddy’s homes are Skye’s,” Max said.

Max and Pancho got married in 2017. They welcomed their son Skye Anakin in 2020.

The “My Guardian Alien” star revealed in 2023 that they had separated years before and their split was amicable.

Recently, Max and Pancho were the subject of rekindling rumors, but they said that they are simply “really close.”
