Chito Miranda is now home with family, details multiple detours just to get back home

Chito Miranda is now back home with his family after being stranded in Sorsogon with Parokya ni Edgar due to Typhoon Kristine.

Sharing a selfie with his son in the early hours of Friday morning, Chito said he and the band had several detours before getting back to their families.

“After being stranded for days in Sorsogon," the band boarded a plane to Manila, which attempted to "land thrice" in the capital before it had to be "temporarily redirected to Kalibo."

Their obstacles didn't end when their supposedly 45-minute flight finally made it to Manila after five hours, because the band got "stuck sa SLEX for more than 4hrs dahil sa baha."

But all is well Friday because "sa wakas, [nasa] bahay na ko,” Chito said.

In an earlier Instagram post, Chito shared their captain and flight crew from Sorsogon made several attempts to land in Manila but due to safety reasons, they landed in Kalibo, Aklan instead.

“Oks na din yun...basta safe,” he said, alongside a photo of Parokya at the airport. “Mabuti na lang light lang yung mood dito sa flight namin and everyone is still in a good mood.”

Back home, Chito said, “Thank You, Lord, for keeping us safe and healthy, and for bringing us back home safely to our families. You Da Best.”

Chito also thanked the family who took them in and cared for them in Sorsogon, and their captain and flight crew for making everybody safe and comfortable. He also thanked the person who let him borrow a powerbank so he could update his wife, Neri Naig, through their perilous journey.

And of course, Chito thanked his fellow Parokya ni Edgar members, team, and fans.

“Salamat sa mga kabanda ko, at sa TopBeat Crew at Soundcheckers for making everything feel like an adventure,” he said.

“Salamat din sa mga nanood sa gig namin nung Monday kahit bumabagyo...sana safe and healthy kayo lahat,” Chito added.

Chito ended his post saying, “Sobrang saya ko talaga na nasa bahay na ko kasama ng pamilya ko. Goodnight.”

Parokya ni Edgar was stranded for four days in Sorsogon after performing at the Kasanggayahan Festival on October 21 with fellow OPM artists Flow G and Skusta Klee.

Dominic Roque, who is also stranded in Sorsogon with his rider friends, was left thinking Friday morning if they'll make it home soon.

According to the latest Tropical Cyclone Bulletin posted by PAGASA on 5am Friday, Severe Tropical Storm Kristine maintains its strength as it accelerates west-northwestward over the sea west of Northern Luzon. Several regions in the Philippines have declared a state of calamity including Sorsogon.

Malls nationwide are offering free parking, wi-fi, restroom use, and charging stations.

For those who are interested in helping, here's where you can send cash and in-kind donations for the victims of Tropical Storm Kristine.
