Liam Payne’s GF Kate Cassidy writes tribute for the late singer, reveals they wanted to get married
Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy wrote a touching tribute for the late singer on Instagram, revealing their future plans together.
Posting a series of photos from their two-year relationship, the social media influencer started her note saying, “I don't even know where to begin."
"My heart is shattered in ways I can't put into words," she added.
According to Kate, Liam had a “huge impact” on the world, and “brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone—millions of fans, your family, friends, and especially me.”
“You are so incredibly loved,” Kate said.
Clearly struggling with her loss, Kate said Liam is her "best friend and the love of my life."
"Your energy was contagious, lighting up every room you walked into,” she added.
Kate said his death still does not feel real.
“I'm struggling to figure out how to live in a world without you by my side,” she said.
In her note, Kate shared a recent moment with Liam, spending an evening together to manifest their future together.
“I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it," she continued revealing its contents: "‘Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444.’”
“Liam, I know we'll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned. You'll always be with me. I've gained a guardian angel,” she said.
“I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go.”
She signed her letter, “Forever yours, Katelyn” and added the angel number, 444.
Liam and Kate started dating in 2022. According to the BBC, Liam’s final Snapchat posts feature Kate, who left Argentina days before his death.
Liam died on October 16, after he fell from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires. He was 31 years old.
According to an autopsy report, he suffered 25 injuries, including a serious head injury. Police said he was alone when the incident happened, and there were indications that he experienced an episode due to alleged substance abuse.
Tributes immediately poured in from Liam’s fellow artists, like Charlie Puth, Zedd, Paris Hilton, and many more.
One Direction released a joint statement saying they were "completely devastated" by Liam's death, before members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan released their individual tributes.
Kate earlier posted a tribute to Liam, saying “I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life.”
Liam pursued a solo career when One Direction had an indefinite hiatus in 2016. His solo songs include “Strip That Down” featuring Quavo, “For You” featuring Rita Ora, and “Bedroom Floor.” His latest single, “Teardrops,” was released in March.
One Direction had a two-night concert in Manila in 2015. Their hit songs include “Night Changes,” “What Makes You Beautiful,” and “Story of My Life.”
