Did Maricel Laxa and husband Anthony Pangilinan consider entering politics?

The award-winning actress graced Tuesday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," where she talked about her role in GMA Afternoon Prime's "Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law" and also shared her thoughts on whether she and Anthony ever considered entering politics.

The question was posed by Tito Boy, as he mentioned that "it's political season."

"No," said Maricel. "Because we've seen how we can support people behind the scenes and mas effective 'yun sa tingin ko."

"Nakakatulong ka dahil alam nila na may maganda kang intensyon at wala kang ginagawa para sa vested interests mo later on," she added.

In the "Fast Talk" episode, Maricel also shared that it's been two weeks since Anthony was discharged from the hospital after undergoing heart surgery. She added that he has been walking as he heals, and has also been back to work.

In August 2023, Maricel and Anthony guested on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," where they recalled the rough patch they experienced during the early days of marriage and how they fixed things between them.

Maricel and Anthony have five children: Ella, Donny, Hannah, Benj, and Solana. The couple will celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary in December.

Maricel played the role of Atty. Meredith Simmons, a lawyer with a heart for the marginalized, in "Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law" alongside Jo Berry. She marked her exit from the drama series following the death of her character.

Previously, she starred in "Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune" as Valerie Lim and "Apoy Sa Langit" as Gemma.
