Dingdong Dantes was one supportive husband at the red carpet premiere night of “Balota,” which stars his wife, Marian Rivera, on Friday.
The Kapuso Primetime King posted an Instagram photo of them at the event and expressed his pride and admiration in his caption.
“Experiencing this movie for a second time, and watching my wife dominate in her role, fills me with immense pride,” Dingdong said.
“Congratulations, once again, to the whole team!” the actor added.
Marian, actors Will Ashley, Raheel Bhyria, Esnyr, Sassa Gurl, and Donna Cariaga, director Kip Oebanda, and GMA Network executives graced the premiere night at Gateway Mall 2 on Friday.
"Maraming maraming salamat. Actually very excited ako and finally mapapalabas na siya nationwide, so ibig sabihin mas maraming makakakuha ang mensahe nitong pelikula na 'to," Marian said at the event.
The Cinemalaya 2024 entry “Balota” follows the story of a land-grabbing tycoon and a former male sexy actor who are locked in a tight race for the mayoral seat of a small town. When violence erupts, a teacher runs into the forest with a ballot box containing the last copy of the election results.
Marian won the Best Actress award for the role. She shared the honor with Gabby Padilla.
“Balota” will return to Philippine cinemas starting October 16 with a new cut.
Discounted tickets will be granted to eligible teachers and students who will bring their valid school ID to the cinemas.
