Ruffa Gutierrez says being an empty nester is hard: 'The house is super quiet'

Ruffa Gutierrez's daughters Lorin and Venice are both in the United States for college, and the 50-year-old actress is starting to feel the challenges of being an empty nester.

On Instagram, Ruffa said she didn't realize how hard it would be "not having Lorin and Venice close to me."

"The house is super quiet," she wrote.

"But knowing they're chasing their dreams makes every moment of missing them worth it," she added. "Forever proud, mommy."

In the comments section, her firstborn Lorin said she misses her mom just as much.

"Awww, mommy. I miss you every second. I love you," Lorin commented.

Lorin currently studies at Pepperdine University in California, while Venice flew to Texas for college in August.

Ruffa also places importance on schooling. She earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Arts at the Philippine Women's University in 2022 at 48 and is now pursuing a Master of Arts major in Communication Arts.

Ruffa was previously married to Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas, the father of her two daughters. After separating in 2007, Ruffa and Yilmaz were granted an annulment.

Ruffa is currently in a relationship with actor-politician Herbert Bautista.
