Rabiya Mateo shuts down breakup rumors with Jeric Gonzales, says she unfollowed BF due to 'topak'

Rabiya Mateo has set the record straight: she and Jeric Gonzales are still in a relationship.

During her guest appearance with fellow beauty queen Gazini Ganados in an episode of "The Boobay and Tekla Show," Rabiya addressed rumors that she and Jeric have broken up after she unfollowed the actor on Instagram again.

When she was asked about her current status, she quipped, "Medyo taken. Charot. Depende sa topak ko sa araw na 'yon."

"Hindi, actually, I'm still in a relationship. Ang bilis kasi ng mga marites. Alam mo naman tayo, kapag padating 'yung dalaw natin iba 'yung topak natin, iba 'yung init ng ulo natin," the Sparkle star added.

The Ilongga beauty queen said she unfollowed Jeric back then because she was simply having a "bad girl's day."

"That day, it was a bad day, then I blocked Jeric. Hindi ko naman ini-e-expect na mahahagilap agad 'yon. Ifo-follow ko na siya dapat kasi nag-OK na kami that day, pero nakalimutan ko eh wala na sumabog na," she said.

According to Rabiya, it was Jeric who first told her about the breakup rumors. 

"Si Jeric nga 'yung unang nag-sabi sa 'kin kasi nalaman niya pa na na-block ko siya through social media. Sabi niya, 'Oh may issue-ng kumakalat na hindi na daw kami," she said.

While she has yet to unblock Jeric, Rabiya said she and Jeric are OK, and just recently went on a trip to Taiwan. She also denied the blind item and hearsays surrounding their relationship.

"I know maraming kuwento, maraming blind items na nangyayari, walang katotohanan po 'yon, I and Jeric, we're OK," she said.

When asked if they are going into some problems, Rabiya said that she and Jeric are still in the process of working out their relationship.

"Wala namang perfect relationship. Kahit matagal na kami ni Jeric nasa stage pa rin kami na may mga ugali ang bawat isa na ngayon pa lang namin nalalaman. We're still working on complementing each other. Hindi pa naman kami nag-gigive up, so I guess it's still a good story," she said.

Rabiya then expressed her love and gratitude to her boyfriend.

"Thank you for always keeping me grounded and for always reminding me that our relationship is so much more kung ano 'yung nakikita ng tao on social media, and I hope we still get to forgive each other sa mga kasalanan na gagawin natin. You know that I always love you," she said.

Jeric and Rabiya confirmed they were dating in March 2022, then sparked breakup rumors three months later after they unfollowed each other on Instagram.

In a past interview, Jeric said they broke up due to a "misunderstanding."

Rabiya previously appeared in the Kapuso afternoon series "Makiling." She also had a special participation in GMA Network's newest historical series "Pulang Araw."

Meanwhile, Jeric currently stars in Kapuso murder-mystery series "Widows' War."
