Sandro Muhlach gets heartwarming surprise visit from mom Edith
Sandro Muhlach was left speechless after his mom Edith Millare surprised him while he was out dining in a restaurant.
The Sparkle star shared a video of the heartwarming moment on Instagram, where his mom can be seen sneaking up behind him and playfully covering his eyes.
"Sino to?" he asked.
Upon seeing his mom, Sandro was at a loss for words. He put his hands over his mouth and took a few seconds to recover, while Edith wiped her eyes with tissue.
The mother and son hugged, and Sandro was able to say, "What? Hindi ako makapaniwala."
In Sandro's caption, he described his mom as the strongest woman he knows and said he is lucky to have her as his mother.
"Your love and kindness mean more to me than you know. Thank you for being there for me during one of the hardest times in my life. Your love, care, and presence meant more to me than I can ever fully express," he wrote.
Sandro also thanked Edith for surprising him even though it was her birthday. "You're the best mom I could ever ask for. I love you more than words can express. Happy Birthday Mama!" Sandro wrote, greeting his US-based mother once again after he earlier greeted her on Instagram.
In his caption, Sandro credited his mom for giving him strength and comfort.
"When I felt overwhelmed by my trauma, you were a constant source of strength and comfort. I’m still finding my way, but I feel stronger knowing that I have you by my side," he said.
While he made no mention of what he is going through in his post, he added that he feels "stronger" to have her right next to him.
"I’m still finding my way, but I feel stronger knowing that I have you by my side. I hope you know how much I appreciate everything you’ve done not just during this time, but always," he said.
In August, Sandro and the National Bureau of Investigation filed a complaint for rape through sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness against GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz before the Department of Justice (DOJ).
This September, the complaint filed by Sandro was submitted for resolution following the preliminary investigation, which was attended by Sandro, Nones, and Cruz.
According to Nones and Cruz's lawyer, Atty. Maggie Garduque, the contractors denied the allegations against them in their submitted counter-affidavit on the complaint.
Meanwhile, apart from the complaint before the DOJ, Sandro also filed a formal complaint against Nones and Cruz before GMA Network, compelling the company to conduct its own investigation.
During the Senate hearing regarding abuse and harassment in the mass media industry last month, GMA Network Senior GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes said GMA has suspended the two independent contracts while the investigation is ongoing.
Gozon-Valdes also stressed that GMA Network does not condone sexual abuse.
