Jennylyn Mercado honors late adoptive mom on her birthday: ‘I feel so blessed that you were a part of my life’

Jennylyn Mercado paid tribute to her late adoptive mother, Mommy Lydia, on what would have been her 82nd birthday.

The Kapuso Ultimate Star posted a selfie with her Mommy Lydia on Instagram and wrote a sweet birthday message.

“I feel so blessed that you were a part of my life,” Jennylyn said.

“Hope you’re having the best time up there. Sending my warmest birthday wishes to the sky,” she added. “Happy birthday, Mommy Lydia!”

Mommy Lydia passed away in 2016 at 74 years old due to sepsis secondary to pneumonia.

Jennylyn has credited her own “gentle but strict” parenting style to Mommy Lydia. She also shared that she will be passing on the lessons and values Mommy Lydia taught her to her own children, such as how to be independent and brave as they get older.

Jennylyn married Dennis Trillo in 2021.

Their modern family includes Dennis’ son Calix, Jennylyn’s son Alex Jazz, and the couple’s daughter Dylan.

DenJen are set to star in their first movie together after 14 years, titled "Everything About My Wife," which is a romantic comedy and a Philippine adaptation of an Argentinian film.
