Jennifer Lopez files for divorce from Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez files for divorce from Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are splitting up again, after just two years of marriage.

According to various reports, Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on Tuesday, August 20 in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. The date is pretty significant for Bennifer: They held their second wedding in Georgia on August 20, 2022, after first tying the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022.

People Magazine said Jennifer, who did not have a lawyer with her when she filed, listed April 26, 2024 as the date of separation.

TMZ, which was first to report the unfortunate news, said the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement.

“She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken," a source of Lopez told People.

“The kids are a top priority, as they always have been,” the source added.

Bennifer first got together in 2002 and got engaged that same year. In 2003, the couple announced that they would be postponing their wedding due to the intense media coverage they were having. The two officially called it quits in 2004.

The couple remained friends through the years and have been married to other artists. Jennifer was married to Mark Anthony, and Ben was with Jennifer Garner.

Bennifer rekindled their romance in 2021, and went public by posting photos and attending events together. In 2022, they got engaged and finally tied the knot.

Rumors of their separation began in May 2024 when they have not been photographed together in more than a month. It was also reported that Jennifer and Ben had been living separately.

The divorce comes two years after being married. Jennifer and Ben tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022, and had a traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia on August 20, 2022.

Last June, Jennifer also canceled her "This Is Me... Live" summer concert tour to be with her family.
