EJ Obiena's GF Caroline Joyeux shares Paris experience with Pinoy pole vaulter
Unbeknownst to many, Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena has been in a lowkey relationship with German athlete Caroline Joyeoux for four years now.
On Instagram, Caroline shared a reel stitching some of the highlights of her Paris trip, most especially the day she came to support EJ, the world no. 2 in pole vaulting.
In the video, Caroline could be seen exploring the streets of Paris with EJ, as well as wearing a shirt with the Filipino athlete's name during the pole vault Olympic final. She also painted her nails with the hues of the Philippine flag.
When EJ concluded his campaign in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Caroline commented on his post and said, "You are a real fighter. I'm so proud of you. We will be back!"
In an episode of "Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel," EJ revealed that he has been in a relationship with Caroline since 2020. They met at a training camp in Italy.
EJ ended his 2024 Paris Olympics journey in fourth place, a huge jump from his 11th ranking in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
