Dennis Trillo speaks up on Jennylyn Mercado's absence in GMA Gala 2024

Dennis Trillo addressed the absence of his wife, Jennylyn Mercado, at the GMA Gala 2024.

The Kapuso Drama King walked the red carpet alone on Saturday at the star-studded event in Marriott Hotel, and many fans were wondering why Jennylyn did not attend.

In Nelson Canlas's report on "24 Oras," Tuesday, Dennis said Jennylyn had to stay home for mommy duties.

"Nagkaroon kami ng emergency sa bahay kaya hindi siya nakasama," Dennis said. "Mga bagay lang na hindi maiwan ng ina."

Jennylyn's hairstylist, Bianca Anne Vergara, also explained that the actress's glam team were ready to prep her for the GMA Gala but her son Jazz caught the flu.

She also shared Jennylyn's intended look for the evening, a black mermaid-cut gown.

Jennylyn herself shared a funny video of her wearing the same gown while pretending to be a supermodel.

Dennis and Jennylyn got married in 2021 and welcomed their daughter, Dylan, in 2022. They also have sons from previous relationships, Calix and Jazz.

The couple is set to star in an upcoming romantic comedy film titled "Everything About My Wife" along with Sam Milby.

Meanwhile, Dennis will play his first major antagonist role in "Pulang Araw," which will make its debut on Netflix on Friday.
